Garden shed lining - posted in modelling questions, help and tips: hi all i have insulated my new shed / hobby room and i am at a bit of a dilemma as to which lining option to go with. board out with 9mm plywood (expensive and is it a good use of plywood) 11mm osb (cheap surface finish not smooth) 9mm mdf green type (cheap surface finish smooth. Used plywood downgrade sheets. approx size 1145 x 1990 x 14 mm thick. plywood, 9 ply, in good condition. $7 per sheet some nail holes, large volumes available. we only have size in stock. pick up shepparton. can deliver to melbourne, adelaide and sydney on large volumes orders.. I tend to use 5/8" flooring ply for shed lining work, its the cheapest thick ply you can buy. it comes with a tongue & groove edge, and being quite stiff it only needs three battens, top bottom & middle. give it a coat of satin clear and it looks quite presentable..
I have just or almost finishing lining a shed 12m *7m with 7mm ply. found a good place in sydney. the sheets are actually 2440 by 1220. i used steel channels or top hats to which the ply was attached to.. Shed shell will be finished today and i can begin insulating and lining it shortly. in total a 6m x 10.8m divided into 3 rooms (6x 7.2m workshop), 3.6m x 4m hobby room and 3.6m x 2m store room.. So its come time to fit out my 7x11m shed. it has a steel frame built into it, so that part is done. all i need to do is line the walls. i am thinking of going with 9mm plywood 2400x1200 sheets..
